Tuition & Financial Assistance

The National Youth Leadership Forum on Law and Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) is a tuition-based program. The tuition is $1,420 for the Fall 2008 sessions and $1,585 for the Summer 2009 sessions. Tuition includes: accommodations, breakfasts and dinners, instruction, supervisory personnel, program materials, all forum activities and private motor coach transportation during the program. Students will need money only for lunches and incidentals they wish to purchase.

Transportation to and from Washington, D.C. is not included. Shuttle service between the forum location and selected airports is available on the first and last days of the forum. There is a $40 roundtrip fee for this service. Forum staff will be on-site in local airports to assist arriving students.

Financial Assistance

Community Fundraising
The National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF) makes every effort to assist students with gathering funds for part or all of their tuition through fundraising and scholarships.

If you require financial assistance, NYLF has prepared a special Fundraising Guide to help you raise the necessary funds within your community. In addition, the Office of Admissions is available to guide you in your fundraising efforts.

Need a great idea for fundraising? Read the success stories of students who raised full or partial tuition to attend their program.

For more information regarding fundraising, please contact the Office of Admissions.

Scholarship Fund
The National Youth Leadership Forum Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, has established a scholarship fund to provide financial assistance to qualified nominees. The Forum and the Foundation awards a limited number of partial and full scholarships based on financial need, scholastic merit, leadership achievements and other factors.

All scholarship application deadlines for fall 2008 sessions of the Forum on Law and CSI have passed. It is too late to apply for a scholarship.

If you have received a formal invitation for the summer 2009 sessions of the Forum on Law and Crime Scene Investigation (CSI): your scholarship application deadline is Wednesday, December 10, 2008. Click here to access the scholarship application. You will need your Student ID (located on your Enrollment Application and in your Acceptance Materials) and a valid e-mail address to log in and complete the scholarship application. Using your Student ID to log in allows you to save your progress, so you do not need to complete the entire application in one sitting. After you submit your completed application, you may also log in and update or correct anything on your application up until the deadline. If you do not know your Student ID, please contact the Office of Admissions. If you do not have an e-mail address, you may register for a free e-mail account at various sites on the web, such as Yahoo!, Hotmail, and Google.

If you have not yet received a formal invitation for the summer 2009 sessions of the Forum on Law and Crime Scene Investigation: please check this page for updated information once you receive an invitation and enrollment application in the mail. Only nominees who have been formally invited to the Forum on Law and Crime Scene Investigation will be able to access the scholarship application.

In the event that you are preliminarily granted an award, your notification letter will ask you to finalize the award through submitting a copy of the 2007 1040 Federal Income Tax Form from the individual who claimed you as a dependent. The Federal Income Tax form serves as proof of financial need as indicated upon the applicant's Scholarship Application. The National Youth Leadership Forum cannot grant any scholarship money without receiving sufficient proof of income. If you require further information, please contact the Office of Admissions.

Scholarship applicants should expect e-mail notification of the review results within two weeks of the scholarship deadline.
